TL;DR:

  • Donerds Donuts = still elite
  • Rainbow’s End = nostalgic candy shop with dangerous chocolate s’mores
  • House of Jerky = Nate tried boar jerky and liked it more than he thought he would
  • All three are in walking distance from each other

Stop 1: Donut, Obviously

It’s still Donerds. Still slaps.
Got a donut first thing because my brain said “sugar now.” No regrets.
There’s a chocolate fountain involved. You don’t need more details.

Stop 2: Rainbow’s End Candy Shop

If your childhood exploded and opened a store, it would look like this.
Rainbow’s End has a ton of old-school candy — wax bottles, Pop Rocks, chocolate everything.

I got a chocolate-covered s’more.
If you’ve never had one: it’s like someone melted a campfire into a rectangle and made it better.
Would eat 4 more. Might have.

Stop 3: House of Jerky

This place smells like smoked protein. In a good way.
They’ve got a bunch of jerky flavors — elk, alligator, kangaroo, even salmon.
I got the boar jerky because it felt aggressive.
It was salty, chewy, and weirdly satisfying. I finished the whole bag and didn’t share.

Tip:

All of this is within like a 3-minute walk downtown.
You can go from chocolate to cured meat to bookstore to candle shop in one block. Jim Thorpe is set up like that.
